"Old New Rio" is a proposal that aims to revitalize Rio Piedras, which was once the most significant cultural center of the Caribbean. In the past, the University of Puerto Rico and the urban area of Rio Piedras shared a mutual dependence based on cultural and economic aspects. However, in the present, this relationship no longer exists. This proposal seeks to bridge the gap between both communities by promoting densification through the introduction of new commercial and co-working spaces, housing options, and open green spaces for public enjoyment.
